Alex Glassbrook

Biography

Alex Glassbrook is a barrister at Temple Garden Chambers in London. Alex specialises in vehicle technology law, from liability cases to regulatory advice to industry and others. He is described by the Legal 500 (2024) as being 'at the cutting edge of the emerging law on autonomous vehicles'. Alex wrote the first British book on automated vehicle law, 'The Law of Driverless Cars: An Introduction’ (Law Brief Publishing, 2017) and (with Emma Northey and Scarlett Milligan) its second edition (2019). ‘Advanced, Automated and Electric Vehicle Law’ (Bloomsbury Professional, 2024) is the first British legal textbook on those broader vehicle technology topics, spanning Advanced Driving Assistance Systems (ADAS), self-driving systems and the range of electric vehicles. Alex writes for and (with Emma Northey) co-edits Temple Garden Chambers’ blog, AEVlaw.com. He posts regularly about vehicle technology law on Linked In. Alex is the Honorary Senior Research Fellow in Road Transport Law at Imperial College London, where he teaches vehicle regulation to postgraduate engineers.
